Aspire Case Rules

§1     All students have to be enrolled at Aarhus University.
Case Preparation

§1 Each team must hand in all the deliverables specified in the case.

§2 The deliverables must be handed in through the media specified in the information material related to the case.

§3 The teams must follow the deadlines outlined in the case. If the team exceeds one of the deadlines, the team will be disqualified.

§4 Each team is allowed to use an unlimited number of textbooks, reference material items, Internet resources, and computers.

Reference material items are defined as any form of notes, compendiums/readers, collections of articles, and the like.

§5 The teams are not allowed to discuss the case with anyone outside the case competition unless otherwise specified in the case.


§1 Participants must use their own computers.

§2 Each team must name its deliverables by its group name when uploaded to Innoflow. Hence, the PDF-file of the format should be 16:9 and the file should bear the name of the team i.e. "Team Aarhus”

§3 When the team is ready to hand in its deliverables, it must hand it in through Innoflow. It is the team’s own responsibility that its deliverables are handed in before the deadline.

§4 An overall spirit of sportsmanship is expected from all participants throughout the duration of Aarhus Case Competition.

§5 Any violation of the rules above will result in immediate termination and disqualification of the team. Any decision of termination and disqualification is final and will only apply to the specific case.

Case Specific Rules


§1 The slides must be made in English using Microsoft PowerPoint, and a maximum of 10 slides can be handed in. No appendix is allowed.


§1 Presentations must be made in English using Microsoft PowerPoint. The teams advancing to the preliminary rounds may use notes and/or cue cards during the presentations. 


§2 A maximum of 15 slides can be handed in, and an unlimited amount of slides in the appendix is allowed.

§3 The nine best teams will proceed to the preliminary rounds.

§4 Each team will compete against the three other teams in its assigned pool in the preliminary rounds. The teams will be assigned randomly to three pools.


§5 Each team presents its case solution in the preliminary rounds. From this round, three winning teams will qualify for a final round of presentations in which one team is selected as the winner of the competition.

§6 In the preliminary rounds, each presentation will consist of a 10-minute presentation followed by a 7-minute Q&A-session. In the final round, each presentation will also consist of a 10-minute presentation followed by a 7-minute Q&A-session. The presenting team will be notified when five minutes and one minute remains of its presentation time.

§7 The three finalist teams will present the same presentations as used in the preliminary rounds – no modifications of any kind must be made to the PowerPoint presentation.

§8 The presentation in the preliminary rounds will not count in the evaluation of the presentation in the final round.

§9 The teams are not allowed to watch any of the other teams’ presentations in the preliminary round, which is a closed presentation. Furthermore, the finalists are not allowed to watch any of the other finalists’ presentations proceeding their own.


§10 Teams advancing in the competition are required to facilitate their own technical setup for the semifinals and finals, including, but not limited to; high bandwidth and stable internet connection and high-quality sound and video equipment. Lack of proper equipment may result in disqualification. 


§11 Teams advancing in the competition must be available for equipment and connection testing sessions prior to the semifinals and finals respectively. Lack of availability may result in disqualification.


§12 Teams presenting are obligated to present their solutions in separate rooms and through separate computers
